Description
If you do not require the guided support and pre-cut materials that come with a complete surfboard kit, we have developed a set of full-scale downloadable plans (available in PDF format) that will help you create your own wooden surfboard.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
The skeleton must be cut from 8 mm plywood.
The external planks should have a thickness of 6 mm.
The rails must be constructed with four 6 mm wood strips per side (template included in the PDF).
We have designed these BOARD PLANS for makers who have good woodworking skills and need the framework of a tried-and-tested board to get started.
A bit of experience in woodworking can be helpful, but if you are skilled with your hands, can work with attention to detail, and follow the instructions, you should be able to tackle this project with great success. Although the finished product may seem distant, if you focus on each small, achievable step, they will quickly accumulate, resulting in a beautiful surfboard of which you will be proud. The sensation of surfing on a board you built yourself is indescribable.
